When I wrote Karajane, I had something like a hymn for cemeteries in mind. I like the warm atmosphere and genious composition of places like Südfriedhof in Leipzig, or Père Lachaise in Paris.
As a child, I often performed with the orchestra at funerals. I enjoyed that. People are in a very very special mood and the music substitutes that, especially in deep catholic regions like South Bavaria where i grew up.
Last weekend the temperature went down, we had snow, but the leaves had still a beautiful color in red, green and yellow. An awesome mid autumn day and perfect for shooting some material for a video. Here it is. Hope you like it.
